Weekend Visitors
We had a fantastic weekend, with a visit from Aunt Sheryl and Drew's cousins, DJ & Janae (and Janae's friend Melissa). They arrived on Saturday night and stayed until Monday morning. We played and talked and played some more. They even brought Drew his first golf club...we will be in the yard practicing soon!

The Prodigal Son Returns!
And all the animals (and mommies) are rejoicing! Eddie returned just a few minutes ago... Drew really did have a GREAT hiding spot: Brad's briefcase!! It truly is the only spot we didn't look. Brad opened his bag and tried to slide a notebook in, and it wouldn't go in all the way. So he stuck his hand in to see what the problem was, and lo and behold, there was EDDIE! Whew! What a relief! And as you can see, all is back to normal on the farm. :)

Where's Eddie???
M I S S I N G
Eddie the Farmhand
Last seen Saturday, 2/9/08, tending to the horse in the stable
Blonde hair, blue coveralls, and a smile on his face
Last seen with a grooming brush in one hand and his green frog in the other
Please, if you've seen Eddie, tell him to come home
The animals just haven't been the same (as you can see)
Sonya Lee is crying in the silo
None of the animals will eat
Farmer Jed has been trying (unsuccessfully) to console them
We need Eddie back
REWARD offered for anyone with information leading to the successful search and rescue of EDDIE.
So, as you can see, Eddie's missing. We lost him sometime on Saturday night (I finally got a "night on the town" with some of our youth group girls and left Brad and Drew at home). Without adequate supervision :) the boys seemed to have misplaced Eddie. Needless to say, I'm a bit obsessed with trying to find him. We've looked everywhere...and the most frustrating thing is that I know he has to be somewhere here in the house. Drew either has a really good hiding place, or Brad is playing a nasty trick on me. (I drive him crazy when I put the toys away at the end of the day and everything has to go in it's proper place.) It is most disturbing that we've lost Eddie because 1) he's part of a set and 2) Drew got Eddie for his birthday just 2 1/2 weeks ago! We should be able to hold on to a toy for longer than that!
Please pray for Eddie's safe return to the farm. :)

Mom's Barber Shop
I committed one of the cardinal sins of motherhood today....I cut my child's hair! How'd I do? I've noticed lately that Drew could use a cut, and I thought to myself "I can do this." So as Drew was in the tub this morning, I grabbed Brad's haircutting scissors and had at it! It is a little choppy in some places, but I figure it'll grow, right?

Double Whammy
Good News: Drew made it through the night, sleeping until 7:30 this morning.
Bad News: When I entered Drew's room, it stunk! I thought maybe he had a dirty diaper, but it didn't smell like his normal dirty diapers. Upon further investigation, I determined I was smelling rotten milk. He had vomited at some point during the night (gross), and proceeded to sleep in it. Double gross! He didn't eat well yesterday, and after not eating much for breakfast (5 small slices of kiwi is all) and throwing up again in his high chair, I knew something was wrong. A diarrhea diaper confirmed my suspicions. A call into the doctor's office told me that Drew probably has both an upper respiratory infection (hence the runny nose and cough) AND some kind of stomach bug. Oh yes, a mother's dream. On the plus side, his mood is otherwise normal. Chipper and happy, playing as usual. If only we were all like that when we're sick! Lots of fluids and TLC, and hopefully he'll be on the mend soon.
It's too bad Drew doesn't feel well. We got about 8 inches of snow last night. It would be a perfect afternoon to go jump in it.
