{Advent Action} Day 5

5 Days Until Christmas

Today's activity: "make a list of 10 things you are thankful for"

This activity was designed to begin to instill thankfulness in Drew (and Reed, although he's still a bit young and was sidelined for this activity...you know, considering he can't actually talk...). I know in many of our actions this Advent, we've talked about gratitude by way of giving to other people - recognizing how blessed we are so that we can be a blessing to others. But I really found this activity of being specific about our blessings valuable.

We all sat down at the kitchen table to talk about thankfulness. We explained to Drew that "being thankful" is like saying we are really happy that we have something. We threw out a few examples, and then with some prompting and asking some questions, he took it from there.

I made these keepsake sheets so that I could put our lists in our family photo album. Well, not really so I could put them in the album, but because I wanted them to be pretty. So there you go. ;)

Brad, Drew, and I each had our own sheet.

Here's what we are thankful for today...(in no particular order)
